MOTOWN LOWDOWN

It was senior year in high school. Mock Elections. The adorable jock who I had been crushing on was at the podium. As he called out my name, I couldn’t believe that I--this National Honors Society Thespian-- was about to be handed an award from him.

Now looking back, the sheer excitement of meeting him probably clouded over the vast importance of receiving dual-honors for something that would inevitably shape my career.

“Congratulations,” he said into the microphone, with that sexy-cute voice. “You have been voted ‘Most Talkative’ and ‘Class Clown.’“

“Class Clown.”  Perfect tagline for my tombstone.

“Most Talkative.” An ideal trait for a clever wordsmith and the spark for my first branding campaign (I was Julie Smith at the time).

So here I am today, still talking, still funny (so I'm told), with plenty of creative things to say. And the possibilities are endless.  Just ask me.
